The iconic 1932 restaurant in Siem Reap has unveiled four new tasting menus inspired by Cambodia’s history, culture and rich culinary traditions.

Luxury travellers with a passion for exceptional dining have another reason to visit Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, as its acclaimed restaurant 1932 introduces four new Khmer tasting menus celebrating the flavours and stories of Cambodia.

Located in the heart of Siem Reap, the historic restaurant has built a reputation for elevating traditional Khmer cuisine, and its latest menus continue that journey with a thoughtful blend of heritage, local ingredients and contemporary fine dining.

Three of the new tasting experiences have been created by Executive Sous Chef Dorn Doeurt, a Siem Reap native and expert in Cambodian cuisine, while a fourth menu sees Executive Chef Memo Hernandez bring together the vibrant flavours of Latin America and Cambodia in a bold culinary collaboration.

Each menu tells a different chapter of Cambodia’s story.

The King’s Apothecary pays tribute to King Jayavarman VII through a refined vegetarian menu featuring dishes such as cucumber with kaffir lime, pumpkin with coconut and cauliflower steak.

The Reign of King Monivong draws inspiration from the monarch’s historic journey to Marseille, showcasing elegant dishes including Royal Fish Amok, banana blossom and poached chicken salad, and braised pork belly.

Meanwhile, The Golden Age celebrates Cambodia’s vibrant cultural scene during the 1960s with standout dishes including lobster with turmeric and sticky rice, Kep tiger prawns and sous vide duck.

For diners looking for something more unexpected, New Khmer Expressions offers an imaginative fusion of Khmer and Latin American flavours, highlighting ingredients such as barramundi, coconut water and bird’s eye chilli in a modern interpretation of Cambodian cuisine.

“These menus tell stories of Cambodia’s past while delivering modern, refined dining experiences,” says Chef Dorn Doeurt.

The launch further strengthens 1932’s position as one of Cambodia’s leading fine dining destinations, offering guests an opportunity to experience the country’s culinary heritage through beautifully crafted tasting menus that honour both tradition and innovation.

Editor’s Note

One of the best ways to understand a destination is through its food. Rather than simply recreating traditional recipes, restaurants like 1932 celebrate the history, culture and local ingredients that make Cambodian cuisine so distinctive, creating an experience that’s every bit as memorable as visiting the temples of Angkor itself.
